WEATHER
There is evidence to suggest that the Kalahari was once the home to ancient lakes, receiving much more precipitation than it does today. Only the San people would know, as they have inhabited this place for tens of thousands of years. Traditionally hunter-gatherers, the San are masters of the bow and arrow, and they speak a number of fascinating dialects known as “click” languages. Anyway, we were lucky to have our tractors today: only a few kinds of vehicles can handle this sandy, dusty terrain, with just a few scattered mining developments accounting for any real infrastructure.
