Today our tractors explored Hlane National Park in north-eastern Swaziland, where you can glimpse herds of Africa’s most iconic animals. It’s no coincidence that Hlane means “wilderness” in the Swazi language, as rhinos, lions, elephants and leopards roam these lands. It’s also home to Africa’s biggest population of white-backed vultures, not to mention a host of other bird species. It would have been hard to leave the grasslands and hardwood trees of this wonderful place if not for the allure of our next destination: Kruger National Park.
